Dr. Pam Vervoort is a Research Fellow at the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Birmingham. With a PhD in Earth and Planetary Science from the University of California, Riverside (2022), she specializes in paleoclimatology and Earth system modeling.
Her research focuses on understanding carbon cycle feedbacks during past global warming events like the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum and hyperthermal events. She employs Earth System Models to study how astronomical forcing imprints geological records and drives climate-environmental changes through Earth history.
Key research themes include
- Carbon cycle dynamics under extreme climate perturbations
- Biogeochemical modeling of marine and terrestrial systems
- Interdisciplinary applications of isotope geochemistry
