Pam Smith serves as a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing within the Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing at the University of Wolverhampton. With over 20 years of experience in pre-registration nursing education, she holds a University Link role supporting students in clinical placements and is developing an innovative Master of Nursing Programme focused on clinical practice assessment.

Smith's research spans clinical education methodologies and biomechanics, with particular focus on curriculum design, active learning techniques, and e-learning applications in nursing education. Her biomechanics research examines functional movement in pathological populations including neurological disorders, obesity, and amputees, while also investigating sports biomechanics applications for coaching.
Her publication record demonstrates expertise in clinical nursing skills development, with her 2015 dissertation pioneering mind-mapping techniques for cognitive development in nursing students. Current work explores innovative clinical practice assessment frameworks for graduate-entry nursing programs.
Professional experience includes extensive clinical practice since 1984 across medical units specializing in gastroenterology and renal care at New Cross Hospital, complemented by nursing education roles at United Midlands College for Nursing and Midwifery from 1989-1995.
Smith maintains active professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (since 1981) and holds qualifications including ENB A24 Medical Nursing certification (1986).
