Pam Lowe

Dr. Pam Lowe is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Policy at Aston University, within the Society and Politics School. She holds a Senior Tutor role in the department and teaches modules including 'Pregnancy and Politics' and 'CSI: Crime, Subversion and Injustice.' Her research focuses on women's reproductive and sexual health, feminist theory, and qualitative methodology, with a particular emphasis on abortion rights, anti-abortion activism, and reproductive coercion. Current projects include a British Academy-funded study on reproductive coercion in healthcare settings and an ethnographic study of UK-based anti-abortion activism.

Lowe's qualifications include a BA (Hons), MA, and PhD from the University of Warwick. Her work spans sociological analysis of gender-based violence, religious influences on activism, and policy impacts on healthcare access. She collaborates internationally and has published extensively on topics such as sexual health, contraceptive policies, and the intersection of neuroscience with parenting discourse.

Her advocacy includes submissions on pandemic-related disparities and contributions to policy debates on abortion law reform.
