Professor Pam Dawson is a leading academic in Health and Wellbeing at Plymouth Marjon University. She serves as Co-Director of the Lifelong Health and Wellbeing Research and Knowledge Exchange Group and as the Marjon Pathway Lead for Health and Wellbeing in the ESRC South West Doctoral Training Partnership. With a focus on enhancing research culture, she directs mentoring programs for early career researchers and practitioner academics.

Her research spans patient safety, falls prevention, and integrated health/social care systems. Current projects include adapting NHS Patient Safety Incident Reporting Frameworks for nursing homes and evaluating behavioral weight management programs. Previous work includes large-scale trials on falls prevention in older adults with dementia and multifactorial interventions in emergency departments.
Prior supervisions include 8 PhD/MPhil graduates in topics ranging from clinical reasoning in stroke physiotherapy to pulmonary rehabilitation support. Grants include £210k from Dunhill Medical Trust for SafeST study (2020-2023) and £200k from Health Foundation (2013-16). She is an HCPC-registered physiotherapist and Independent Governor at Education Partnership North East.
