Pallavi Singh

Pallavi Singh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Northern Illinois University, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She specializes in microbiome research through her Singh Biome Lab, focusing on One Health, food safety, and microbial ecology.

Recent publications highlight 2023-2022 work on coronavirus replication, social stress metabolomics, and STEC epidemiology. She received the ACUE Distinguished Teaching Scholar award for her pedagogical contributions.

Current lab students include Laurie Spencer (Bison microbiome), Adam Nuccio (Microbiome-gut-brain axis), and collaborators like Dr. Grippo (Psychology Department). The lab also explores environmental AMR gene prevalence and biofilm dynamics in pathogens.
