Dr. Paige Pope is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Lethbridge. She leads the Psychology for Active Living & Sport Lab, focusing on sport and exercise psychology with a dual emphasis on health promotion messaging and coach education.
- Education: B.A. in Physical Education, M.A. in Applied Health Sciences (Brock University), Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology (University of Western Ontario)
Her research integrates Self-Determination Theory to analyze how tailored, intrinsic-focused messages enhance physical activity engagement. She also co-developed the Sport Psychology for Coaches website, a free resource for translating evidence-based practices to athletic communities.
Recent publications span sedentary behavior reduction, well-being metrics in sports, and motivational frameworks. Dr. Pope actively mentors graduate students and advocates for interdisciplinary approaches to health behavior change.
