Pablo Venegas Garcia is the Experiment and Networking Manager at the Interdisciplinary Lab for Mathematical Ecology and Epidemiology (ILMEE) within the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, focusing on microbial modeling processes in soil organic matter mineralization and methane production. His research integrates applied mathematics with environmental science, particularly in biodegradation processes and nutrient cycles under stoichiometric constraints.
He has collaborated extensively with Dr. Hao Wang (ILMEE director) and Dr. Tariq Siddique (Soil Microbiology Group leader), contributing to interdisciplinary research bridging life sciences and mathematics. His work is part of the Collaborative Mathematical Biology Group, aiming to address ecological and epidemiological challenges through quantitative methods.
Awarded the Faculty of Science Dissertation Award, CONACyT Scholarship, and University of Alberta Doctoral Recruitment Scholarship, his academic contributions are recognized in environmental and mathematical biology domains. Beyond academia, he is an avid cyclist, exploring Alberta's landscapes and documenting trips like the Okanagan Valley adventure, which he frames as a balance between professional and personal passions.
