Prof. Pabitra Choudhury is a Professor and Department Chair of Chemical Engineering at New Mexico Tech. He leads the Nanosystems Modeling and Simulation Laboratory (NMSL), focusing on advanced materials for energy and environmental applications. His research spans multiscale modeling, additive manufacturing materials, catalysis, and proton transport membranes.
Research Interests:
- Electrocatalysis for fuel cells and renewable energy systems
- Graphene-based nanomaterials and 2D materials engineering
- Hydrogen storage and proton-conducting membranes
- Surface engineering and single-atom catalysts
- Thermoelectric materials and interfacial phenomena in alloys
His publications highlight innovations in non-precious metal catalysts, such as FePc-functionalized graphene for ORR applications, and atomistic insights into alloy dendrite growth. He has supervised over 20 graduate and undergraduate students, with a focus on advancing sustainable energy materials.
