P. Martin

P. Martin is a researcher at Armagh Observatory and Planetarium specializing in stellar astrophysics with focus on subluminous stars. Their work examines the relationship between chemical composition and galactic motion of hot subdwarf stars.

Research focuses include:

Current research investigates how helium-deficient, intermediate-helium, and extreme-helium subdwarfs exhibit distinct kinematic patterns, with helium-deficient stars predominantly showing thick disc characteristics while helium-rich variants display more diverse galactic motions including halo population membership.

Collaborative work includes significant partnerships with Naslim N. and C. S. Jeffery at Armagh Observatory, as well as V. M. Woolf at University of Nebraska at Omaha.
