Ozan Gurcan

Ozan Gurcan is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Epidemiology and Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, and a Postdoctoral Instructor at Caltech's Linde Center for Science, Society and Policy. His research focuses on bioethics at the intersection of emerging genomic technologies, genetic discrimination, and public policy, developing ethical frameworks for reprogenetics and healthcare innovation.

Publications analyze moral permissibility in genetic enhancement and autonomy in reprogenetics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he contributed to public health policy at the Public Health Agency of Canada, working on ethics of non-pharmaceutical interventions, vaccine hesitancy, and risk communication.
