Owen King

Dr. Owen King is a Research Fellow in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham. His research focuses on environmental governance and political ecology, particularly regarding extractive industries and water resources. He is affiliated with the ESRC Future Research Leaders project investigating the governance of European shale gas development.

He holds a BSc (Hons) in Geography and Environmental Management and a PhD in Geography. His work emphasizes collective governance challenges in resource development and environmental policy contexts.

Dr. King’s expertise bridges human geography and interdisciplinary environmental studies, addressing contemporary issues in sustainability and resource management.
