His research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson's, dementia), mental health (schizophrenia), and aging, with a dual emphasis on fundamental neuroplasticity and clinical applications. He holds affiliations with the CRIUGM (Centre de recherche de l'Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal) and the RQRV (Réseau québécois de recherche sur le vieillissement).
Education:
- PhD in Psychology from "Al.I.Cuza" University, Iasi, Romania
- Postdoctoral Fellowships at University of Minnesota (USA) and University of Montreal
Research Interests: Combines neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG) and clinical studies to investigate brain mechanisms underlying aging, mental disorders, and neurodegeneration. Key areas include sleep's role in memory consolidation, social determinants of health, and neuroplasticity in Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.

- CIHR-funded project (2020-2025): Sleep-related memory consolidation mechanisms (Co-I)
- PREPARED Trial (2016-2020): Alzheimer's delirium prevention (Co-I)
- Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) (2014-2019) (Core member)
Awards: Recognized for postdoctoral research excellence and international training grants (e.g., Soros Foundation, McDonnell Foundation).
Labs/Teams: Leads sleep-neuroplasticity studies and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in geriatric research and neuroimaging.
