Ottavia Branchina, Research Fellow at the Department of Humanities (Disum), University of Catania, specializes in Italian literature with focus on 15th-16th century chivalric poetry and verismo studies. Under Prof. Andrea Manganaro's supervision, she contributes to Mastro don-Gesualdo digital edition within the CHANGES project's digital philology environment. Since 2024, she serves on the editorial board of class A journal Annali della Fondazione Verga.
- PhD in Interpretation Sciences (2023) with meritorious thesis on crypto-novelists in Renaissance chivalric poems
- Qualified secondary school teacher (A012) since 2025
Her research explores narrative structures across Orlando Furioso, Inamoramento de Orlando, and Mambriano, analyzing gender dynamics, power relationships, and multiversal storytelling. Current projects include Piani di ricerca d'Ateneo RAC.CONTAMI (2025-2026) and Verismo Digitale research team (2024-present).
