معرفی
Oscar van Linden is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with affiliations in the Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences department and the AIMMS research institute. His research focuses on structural biology, medicinal chemistry, and drug discovery, particularly in kinase-ligand interactions through the KLIFS database. He actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through his work in neglected disease drug discovery.
Education: PhD in Chemistry (2013) from VU Amsterdam. His academic background includes postgraduate training in organic synthesis and pharmacological research methods.
Research Interests: Structural bioinformatics of kinases, fragment-based drug design targeting EPHA4 receptor tyrosine kinases, and innovative educational approaches in drug discovery. His KLIFS database has become a critical tool for analyzing kinase-ligand interactions, published in Nucleic Acids Research (2016) and Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (2013).
Teaching: Leads 10 courses including advanced drug discovery simulations, general chemistry labs, and medicinal chemistry principles.
Contributions: Co-developed the KLIFS database cited in 29 patents and referenced on Mendeley platforms. No formal awards listed, though his work demonstrates significant academic impact.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with Prof. de Graaf's group on structural pharmacology and Prof. Wijtmans on educational innovations in pharmaceutical sciences.
