Oscar Metcalfe

Oscar Metcalfe is affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Technology. His research focuses on economic and social development, climate policy, and land management in rural and remote regions, particularly in Australia, the Philippines, Romania, and Indonesia. He contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to poverty eradication, environmental sustainability, and equitable prosperity.

Research Interests: Combining policy, engineering, and community development to address challenges in climate adaptation, infrastructure, and economic opportunities. Recent work emphasizes ecosystem service-based economies for Indigenous communities in northern Australia and disaster resilience strategies.
