معرفی
Oscar M. Curet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). His research focuses on fluid dynamics of animal locomotion, biomimetics, and bio-inspired systems. Curet leads the Lab for Fluid Dynamics of Biological and Bio-Inspired Systems, which explores applications in underwater vehicles, energy harvesting, and computational modeling of swimming fish.
Education: Ph.D. in Engineering from Northwestern University.
Research Interests: The lab investigates biological propulsion mechanisms (e.g., bat flight, fish swimming), fluid-structure interactions, and energy conversion through biomimetic designs. Current projects include studying wing membrane compliance in flight and developing bio-inspired robotics for aquatic environments.
Recent Activities: Published work on aeroelastic instabilities in flight transitions (2013), biomimetic robotics in electric fish studies (2013), and passive flapping wing aerodynamics (2013). Hosted presentations at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (2013) and University of North Florida (2013).
Lab Team: Current students include Hanlin Liu, Abm Kadir, Bevan Taylor, and William Nolan. Open to admitting students with engineering, physical sciences, or biology backgrounds.
