Oscar Frasser is a Part-time Assistant Professor at The New School’s Parsons School of Design, specializing in cinematography and visual storytelling with a focus on human rights and Latin American topics. He holds an MA in Media Studies from The New School, a BFA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, and additional certifications from NYU. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Filmmaking at The New School and teaches visual storytelling at Columbia University’s Oral History MA program.

His research and creative work centers on human rights through visual media, including award-winning films like Dance Horse (2014) and Pink Boy (2017). Award-winning projects include experimental films addressing social justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and cultural narratives. His teaching focuses on technical workshops in cinematography, DSLR usage, and agile lighting.
