Alan McIntyre Smith is a Lecturer in the Department of Film at Purchase College, part of the School of Film and Media Studies. With over three decades of experience as a cinematographer, director, and producer, he brings extensive industry expertise into the classroom. He has also taught at the Rutgers Filmmaking Center, contributing to film education across multiple institutions.
His educational background includes a BA in Filmmaking from the University of Notre Dame, where he studied under Oscar-nominated and Sundance-winning filmmaker Jill Godmilow.
