Dr. Orçun Can is a Lecturer in Digital Economy at King’s College London, based in the Department of Digital Humanities within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. His research focuses on narrative forms in television and the digital economy, particularly the streaming industry. He developed the STNA Model for analyzing narrative structures across television episodes and seasons.
Research Interests include Internet television, digital storytelling, interactive narratives, and SVOD services. He explores both creator-side practices and broader industrial contexts.
Teaching: Adapting the MSc in Digital Economy to a hybrid online-offline model, with extensive experience in digital methods and culture. Nominated for the King’s Education Award (2021).
Public Engagement: Expertise in SVOD platforms and regulation, appearing on Turkish television. Projects: KingsCAT (social media research tool), Digital Humanities Game Lab (DHGL), and the Research Centre for Digital Culture.
