معرفی
Orsolya Horvath is an Associate Professor at the Department of Liberal Arts, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Gáspár Károli Reformed University in Hungary. She holds a PhD in Philosophy (2008) and habilitation in Systematic Theology (2021). Her academic career spans over two decades with significant contributions to philosophy, theology, and biblical hermeneutics.
Dr. Horvath earned her PhD from Eötvös Loránd University with a dissertation on 'The Phenomenology of Self-Consciousness. The Problem of Phenomenological Reduction in Husserl's Late Philosophy.' She also holds multiple MA degrees in Philosophy (2000), German Language and Literature (2009), and Theology with Biblical Specialization (2013). Her habilitation was completed in Systematic Theology at the Evangelical University of Theology in 2021.
Her research focuses on the self-awareness of the concrete person, the relationship between finitude and the transcendent, and 19th-20th century German philosophy and theology. Her work explores phenomenological approaches to religious experience, Luther studies, Heidegger studies, and biblical hermeneutics. She examines how philosophical frameworks intersect with theological interpretation, particularly in understanding human existence and religious experience.
Horvath's recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on the intersection of philosophy and theology. Her work on Heidegger's engagement with Luther, religious paradox, political theology, and fundamentalism reveals a scholar deeply engaged with both historical and contemporary philosophical-theological questions. She frequently examines boundary situations where philosophical reasoning meets religious experience and interpretation.
