Orri Stefansson

Orri Stefansson serves as Professor of Practical Philosophy at Stockholm University and holds a Wallenberg Academy Fellowship. He also works part-time as a researcher at the Institute for Futures Studies, where he contributes to projects on Climate Ethics and Transformative Ethics.

His research focuses on:

• Reasoning and decision making under extreme uncertainty
• Catastrophic risk assessment
• Ethics of risk
• Environmental ethics with particular emphasis on climate ethics

Stefansson's scholarly work examines how individuals and societies should make choices in situations where outcomes could be catastrophic, with special attention to climate change decision frameworks.
