Orla Lynskey is a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe (Bruges) in the department of European Law and Economic Analysis. She holds an Associate Professor position at LSE Law, where she has been since 2012. Her expertise spans data protection, technology regulation, digital rights, and EU law. She earned an LLB (Law and French) from Trinity College Dublin, an LLM in EU Law from the College of Europe, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge, which culminated in her monograph The Foundations of EU Data Protection Law (OUP, 2015).
Dr. Lynskey is a member of the Bar of England and Wales and previously practiced competition law in Brussels. She contributes to academic publishing as an editor of International Data Privacy Law (OUP) and European Law Blog, and serves on the Editorial Board of European Data Protection Law Review.
