Orkan Okan is a Professor of Health Literacy at the Department of Health and Sport Sciences, Technical University of Munich (TUM), since 2021. He holds a PhD in Educational Science (2020, Bielefeld University, summa cum laude) and studied Educational Science with a focus on teacher training at the University of Duisburg-Essen. His research centers on health literacy in childhood and adolescence, particularly within school and educational contexts, integrating digitalization, media literacy, and infodemiology. He leads the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Literacy and coordinates global networks like Covid-HL and GLOBHL.
