Oriana Calderón

Oriana Calderón is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, within the Tickle College of Engineering. Her work bridges transportation engineering, supply chain logistics, and sustainable urban freight systems.

Her work is particularly relevant to zero-emission freight initiatives and urban mobility planning.

Oriana has been actively involved in major research projects, including the 'Super Truck 3 – Volvo Zero Emission Freight Future' collaboration with Volvo, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the U.S. Department of Energy. She also contributes to professional societies, serving as Treasurer of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) Latin America & Caribbean Chapter and Junior VP of Communications for Women of Operations Research and Management Science (WORMS).

She has prior teaching experience as a lecturer at Universidad del Valle and a teaching assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her industry background includes roles in logistics and supply chain operations, providing practical insights into her academic work.
