Orhan Hacıhasanoğlu

Orhan Hacıhasanoğlu is a Professor of Architecture at Özyeğin University’s Faculty of Architecture and Design since 2013, previously holding the same position at ITU Faculty of Architecture (1997–2013). He specializes in architectural design, architectural education, and culture-space interaction. He earned his B.Arch from METU (1979), M.Arch and PhD from ITU (1981, 1986). His research encompasses housing accessibility, urban identity, and architectural pedagogy, with notable publications in peer-reviewed journals like Open House International and A|Z ITU Journal. He has led academic roles including ITU Faculty Dean (2008–2012), Department Head (2000–2004), and editor of A|Z ITU Journal (2004–2013). His awards include multiple architectural competition prizes, such as the 1st Mansiyon in Bursa Kültürpark (1986) and 3rd Mansiyon in Beşiktaş Meydanı (1990). He is a member of professional organizations like the Chamber of Architects, ENHR, and IAPS-CSBE. His academic contributions include supervising postgraduate theses and organizing national design research symposiums. He has also contributed to architectural projects such as the ITU Ayazağa Campus Swimming Pool and the İspirtohane Music School.
