Oren D. Rosenthal serves as Professor and Director of Anatomy at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Bradenton campus, where he also chairs the Student Promotion and Graduation committee. A founding faculty member since 2004, he has taught medical students Anatomy and Problem-Based Learning throughout his tenure at the institution.
His academic credentials include:
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, State University of New York at Buffalo
- Master of Physical Therapy, Rutgers and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
- Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sciences (Anatomy and Cell Biology concentration), University of South Florida College of Medicine
Dr. Rosenthal's research spans anatomy education methodology, peripheral nerve regeneration mechanisms (the focus of his doctoral work), and clinical applications of Point of Care Ultrasound. He actively mentors medical students in cadaver-based anatomy case reports and integrates educational research into curriculum development. His background as a practicing physical therapist specializing in spinal rehabilitation informs his clinical teaching approach.
As Director of Anatomy, he oversees curriculum design and instructional operations for the foundational medical sciences program. His dual role as Chair of Student Promotion and Graduation involves evaluating academic progress, remediation strategies, and graduation eligibility for medical students across all program phases.
