Dr. Onur Kemal Tosun is an Associate Professor (Reader) of Finance at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, where he directs the Cardiff Sustainable Finance Research Group and Sustainable Society Research Alliance. A Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, he previously held academic positions at Warwick Business School and brings extensive international experience to his role.
His educational background includes a PhD majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics from Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, an MBA from Bogazici University, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey.
Dr. Tosun's research focuses on empirical corporate finance, executive compensation, capital structure, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and institutional investors. His work examines how firms navigate disasters, geopolitical conflicts, and sustainability challenges, with particular interest in how corporate governance structures and investor behavior influence financial outcomes.
