Onur Boyman is a Professor of Clinical Immunology at the Department of Quantitative Biomedicine, University of Zurich. His research focuses on cytokine biology, immune homeostasis, and translational immunotherapy. Key projects include developing cytokine-antibody complexes to enhance cancer immunotherapy and studying cytokine roles in autoimmune diseases, transplantation, and infectious diseases like SARS-CoV-2. His work is supported by grants from leading institutions. Boyman’s lab investigates mechanisms of T cell exhaustion, regulatory T cell subsets, and cytokine-driven immune responses in health and disease.
Research Interests:
- Cytokine signaling and function in immune regulation
- Immunotherapies for cancer and autoimmunity
- IL-2-based therapies and receptor engineering
- Long-term immune consequences of SARS-CoV-2 infection
Advising & Grants:
- Supervises PhD/MD-PhD researchers in immunology
- Recipient of major grants including from the Swiss National Science Foundation and European Commission
- Collaborates with leading institutions like the Garvan Institute (Australia) and ETH Zurich
