Professor Omar SENE holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Paris School of Economics and Université Paris I, Pantheon Sorbonne (2013). He is affiliated with the University Alioune Diop of Senegal, where he conducts research on barriers to local public goods provision in developing countries, employing micro-econometric and lab-in-field experiments. His work spans Development microeconomics, Field experiments, and Policy impact evaluation methods.
Research interests include understanding how communities overcome challenges in accessing healthcare, education, and infrastructure, with a focus on empirical analysis and behavioral insights. His studies often address topics such as social capital, corruption effects on mortality, and the role of genetic factors in risk tolerance among Senegalese populations.
Notable contributions include analyses of urban-rural disparities in child malnutrition, interethnic trust dynamics, and cross-national collective action solutions. His experimental methodologies bridge theoretical models with real-world contexts, particularly in Senegal and sub-Saharan Africa.
