Omar Hassan, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Associate Program Director of the Body Imaging Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, completing a general surgery internship, diagnostic radiology residency, and fellowship in abdominal imaging and diagnostic sonography at UCSF. His research focuses on radiologic-pathologic correlations in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), imaging in gender affirmation surgery, and cardiovascular drug pharmacology. He contributes to the Cirrhosis & Hepatocellular Carcinoma Working Group, maintaining a database of over 200 HCC patients to evaluate treatment modalities through multidisciplinary collaboration.
