Omar Ahmad is a Tenured Professor of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences. He holds dual roles as a clinician and researcher, specializing in neurorehabilitation and neuroscience. His academic career spans over 25 years, with tenures at institutions like the University of Kansas Medical Center and Creighton University. Dr. Ahmad is a certified stereologist and has conducted extensive research funded by organizations such as the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Merck Pharmaceuticals.
Education: Doctor of Occupational Therapy (Creighton University), Ph.D. in Neuroanatomy (Warnborough College), B.S. in Occupational Therapy (Washington University).
Research Interests: Focused on public health, oxidative stress, exercise interventions for neurodegenerative diseases, and corrections officer health.
