Omar Abdul-Rahman, M.D., is the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation Professor of Pediatrics and Professor of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University. His clinical expertise spans fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, sexual development disorders, and adult genetics. He previously served as Director of the Department of Genetic Medicine at the Munroe-Meyer Institute (University of Nebraska Medical Center) and held leadership roles at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Dr. Abdul-Rahman's academic journey includes an M.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine (2000) and a B.S. from Millsaps College (1996). His research focuses on FASD epidemiology, genetic counseling program development, and molecular characterization of rare genetic syndromes. He has led studies in diverse populations, including global FASD prevalence assessments and genomic analyses of conditions like Cornelia de Lange syndrome.
