Olwen Purdue is a Professor of History at Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics. She specializes in social history with a focus on urban contexts, child welfare, and public history initiatives. As Course Director of the MA in Public History and founder of the Centre for Public History, she bridges academic research with community engagement. Her work includes advising major cultural institutions like Titanic Belfast and the Ulster Museum’s Troubles and Beyond gallery.
