Dr. Ololade Periola is a Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University's Sheffield Business School, part of the College of Business, Technology and Engineering. She teaches in the Finance and Economics Division and supervises master's dissertations, focusing on fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. Her research interests span macroeconomic policy, time series modeling, and Public Financial Management (PFM), with notable contributions to projects funded by the World Bank and FCDO in Nigeria.
Dr. Periola holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Ibadan (AERC scholarship), alongside an MSc and BSc (First Class Honours) in Economics from the same institution. Prior to joining Sheffield Hallam, she served as Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Senior Project Analyst with the World Bank SFTAS Programme, and Economic Analyst at DAWN Commission. She is a member of ICAN and the Pan-African Scientific Research Council, and has undertaken professional development at Harvard CID and Wageningen University.
Her research trends emphasize African economic challenges, with a focus on Nigeria and UK contexts.
