Dr. Oliver Yu is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Marketing and Business Analytics within the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San José State University. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from Stanford University, along with advanced degrees from Georgia Tech and Taiwan University. Prior to academia, he served as Director of Energy & Technology Strategies at Stanford Research Institute (SRI) and Manager of Planning Analysis at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). His expertise spans technology strategy, innovation methods, and resource planning.

Research Focus: Dr. Yu specializes in innovation management, technology forecasting, and business analytics. He co-founded the International Society of Innovation Methods and has authored/co-authored six technical books, including Technology Portfolio Planning and Management (Springer, 2006) and Advances in Technology and Innovation Management (IEEE, 2012). His recent work emphasizes global innovation strategies and intrapreneurship.

Professional Contributions: He has organized major international conferences (e.g., Global Innovation Forum with IBM/SRI/SJSU), served as board member of IEEE TEMS, and delivered keynote addresses globally. Currently co-authoring Intrapreneurship Management with Prof. Rainer Hasenauer for Wiley Science-IEEE Press (expected late 2023).
