Dr. Oliver Tills is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Biological and Marine Sciences at the University of Plymouth, holding a UKRI Future Leaders Research Fellowship. His research focuses on developmental physiology, phenomics, and environmental stress responses in marine organisms. He teaches modules such as Marine Biology, Ecophysiology, and advanced research methods, supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
His work integrates cutting-edge tools like LabEmbryoCam and Dev-ResNet to study developmental timing, thermal adaptation, and interspecific variation. Key themes include phenotypic plasticity, climate change impacts, and comparative analyses of physiological responses to environmental drivers. Recent studies highlight tools for automated heart rate measurement (HeartCV) and thermal performance in intertidal species.
- Awards: UKRI Future Leaders Research Fellowship
- Advising: Supervises research projects across multiple marine biology programs.
- Labs/Tools: Developer of LabEmbryoCam and Dev-ResNet platforms for phenotyping aquatic embryos.
