Dr. Oliver Robinson is an Associate Professor in Molecular Epidemiology at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, affiliated with the MRC Centre for Environment and Health and the Ageing Epidemiology (AGE) Research Unit.
He earned his PhD in Biomedical Research from Imperial College London in 2013, investigating plant contaminants and DDT in Ethiopian liver disease outbreaks. His research focuses on molecular and environmental epidemiology, biological ageing, and health inequalities using multi-disciplinary biomarker approaches.
As a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow, he develops novel biomarkers of development and ageing via omic technologies to uncover pathological mechanisms in non-communicable diseases. His work extends to cognitive ageing (Gates Ventures Chariot Pro Study) and immune responses to environmental chemicals (Horizon ENDOMIX project).
His scientific recognition includes:
- UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship
Current projects feature leadership in UKRI-funded biomarker development, co-investigation of Gates Ventures' Chariot Pro Study on dementia risk, and Horizon ENDOMIX research on environmental chemicals. Previously, he coordinated the EU FP7 HELIX project and contributed to STOP, Lifepath, and Exposomics initiatives.
Based at the Sir Michael Uren Hub, White City Campus, he conducts research through the MRC Centre for Environment and Health and AGE Research Unit, integrating molecular epidemiology with population health studies.
