Oliver Hämmig, Professor at the University of Zurich (UZH) Medical Faculty, leads the Social Epidemiology and Health Reporting division at the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute. He earned a PhD in Sociology from UZH and completed postgraduate public health studies at Basel, Bern, Zurich, and Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on social determinants of health, emphasizing work environment factors (job demands, work stress, workplace violence) and broader social contexts (inequalities, social support/conflicts, loneliness) that influence individual and population health outcomes.
