Oliver Gould

Dr Oliver Gould is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Science at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), based in the HAS - Applied Sciences department. He holds qualifications including BSc (Hons), PGCert, PhD, and AMRSC. His research focuses on volatile analysis for disease diagnosis and forensic applications, leveraging mass spectrometry and sensor technologies.

Dr Gould's expertise spans analytical chemistry, particularly in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and sensor systems. He has collaborated with NHS partners on NIHR-funded projects and government/defense initiatives to develop forensic and medical detection systems. His work addresses volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in bodily fluids, breath analysis, and illegal drug detection in forensic contexts.
