Dr. Oliver Fitz leads the Battery Cell Technology group at Fraunhofer ISE's Electrical Energy Storage division. His research focuses on next-generation battery technologies including zinc-ion, sodium-ion, and lithium-ion systems. Fitz holds an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Energy Engineering and Environmental Engineering from the University of Stuttgart.
His primary research interests include:
- Novel electrolyte formulations for aqueous batteries
- Electrode manufacturing processes
- Battery module development for stationary storage
- Electrochemical reaction mechanisms
Recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on optimizing aqueous zinc-ion battery systems through advanced electrolyte design and operando characterization techniques. His work contributes to sustainable energy storage solutions for grid applications.
