Dr Oliver Black is a Research Fellow and Director of the Yukaaywa Purrary Study at the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research, part of the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) at The Australian National University. He holds qualifications in BSc, MSc (Applied Psychology), and PhD, and has expertise in public health, epidemiology, and Indigenous health research.

Research Interests focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing, social and cultural determinants of health, social epidemiology, psychometrics, and health system design. Current Research: Oliver is a Co-Investigator in a citizen science project titled 'BigaagARri'—a Preventive Experiential, Arts, Cultural Evidence (PEACE) model for implementation in primary care and community settings. This research aligns with his focus on collaborative, preventive approaches to health systems and Indigenous wellbeing.
Role and Affiliation: His position integrates interdisciplinary collaboration to address population health challenges, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, reflecting NCEPH’s mission to improve health outcomes globally.
