Olga Tsoy

Dr. Olga Tsoy is a Group Leader and Postdoc in the Computational Systems Biology department at the University of Hamburg, within the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences. She leads the Sys_CARE project, focusing on alternative splicing mechanisms in cardiac and renal diseases. Her work integrates computational approaches with biological systems to address complex medical challenges.

Education: Graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, completed her PhD at the Kharkevich Institute (Moscow) under Prof. Gelfand, studying bacterial transcriptional regulatory networks. During her PhD, she conducted research at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research (Kansas-City) on bacterial metabolic pathways. Postdoctoral experience includes roles at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, where she analyzed 3D chromatin structures.

Research Interests: Alternative splicing in disease pathogenesis, chromatin architecture, bacterial regulatory evolution, and network-based drug discovery. She develops computational tools (e.g., DREAMER, UnPaSt) to predict drug interactions and stratify patients using omics data. Recent projects include collaborations on drug repurposing chatbots (DrugRepoChatter) and quantum computing applications in network medicine.

Advising & Grants: Actively involved in interdisciplinary projects funded by BMBF and other agencies. Her research spans translational medicine, systems biology, and computational methodologies.
