Olga Pahom

Olga Pahom, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Linguistics and Cultural Studies and serves as the Associate Dean of Honors at Lubbock Christian University (LCU). She is affiliated with the Honors College, where she directs the Honors Thesis Program and leads strategic initiatives. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in English/Linguistics from Texas Tech University, an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration/Marketing and Missions from LCU.

Her research centers on intercultural communication, bilingualism, second language acquisition, gender and language, storytelling, and writing instruction. She is the founding coordinator of the linguistics program at LCU and has taught a wide range of courses including linguistics, Honors research, and first-year Greek. Her international experience includes academic work in Moldova, Romania, Mexico, and the U.S.

The recent publications of Dr. Pahom reflect a strong interdisciplinary focus, combining linguistics with gender studies, autoethnography, and higher education. Her work often explores how language functions in personal and academic contexts, particularly among bilingual couples and women scholars during the pandemic. She frequently presents at the Christian Scholars’ Conference, where she also organizes sessions on multilingualism and interdisciplinary linguistics.

Dr. Pahom has collaborated with colleagues such as Cathy Box, Amanda Ellis, and Shannon Rains on research related to women’s writing in academia. She is actively engaged in curriculum development and academic leadership, particularly in honors education and linguistics program building.
