Dr. Olga Khrushcheva is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and Programme Leader for the Politics Programme at Manchester Metropolitan University. She also serves as Employability Lead for Politics and Public Services. Her academic background includes a PhD in International Relations (2013), an MA from Nottingham Trent University (2008), and a BA from Altai State University, Russia (2007). Her research focuses on EU-Russia energy relations, Russian foreign policy, and energy security, with particular attention to securitization theory and geopolitical discourse.
Dr. Khrushcheva holds administrative roles including Board membership of the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre for Excellence and serves as an expert reviewer for the Journal of Eurasian Studies and UK Energy Research Centre. Her professional memberships span organizations like the International Studies Association and British Institute of Energy Economics.
Her scholarship explores intersections of energy policy, geopolitical strategy, and decarbonization challenges. Recent work examines Arctic resource politics and EU's energy transition dynamics. Though not listed here, her teaching includes leading modules on EU politics and international relations theory at the postgraduate level.
