Olesya Khromeychuk is a Teaching Fellow in Modern European History at King’s College London since 2018. Previously, she held a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the University of East Anglia (2015–2018) and taught at the University of Cambridge, University College London, and the School of Slavonic and East European Studies. She received her PhD in History from University College London in 2011.
Research Interests:
- Gender and political violence
- Second World War
- History of Ukraine and East-Central Europe
Research Trends: Her work examines gender roles in military contexts, focusing on women’s participation in WWII and the Donbas conflict. She analyzes historical memory, nationalism, and post-war displacement, particularly through the lens of the Waffen SS ‘Galicia’ Division.

Editorial Contributions: She served as guest editor for a special issue of the Journal of Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics and Society (2016), highlighting anti-authoritarian protests in Eastern Europe.
