Oleg Krokhin

Dr. Oleg Krokhin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He holds cross-appointments as Adjunct Professor in the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Medical Genetics. His research focuses on proteomic applications of peptide chromatography, high-throughput mass spectrometry, and peptide separation science. Dr. Krokhin has over 35 years of experience in analytical chemistry, with a strong emphasis on advancing proteomic methodologies for complex biological sample analysis.

Education: PhD (Analytical Chemistry, Moscow State University, 1993) and MSc (Analytical Chemistry, Moscow State University, 1989).

Research Interests: Proteomics, mass spectrometry-based technologies, peptide chromatography, and their applications in human health, biofuels, and food industry. Notable contributions include studies on SARS-CoV-1, Ebola viruses, biofuel production, flaxseed oil deterioration, and biomarker discovery for kidney diseases.

Publications: Over 145 peer-reviewed articles, including influential studies on viral proteomics and biofuel microbial systems. Recent work emphasizes retention time prediction algorithms and proteomic workflow optimization.
