Olcay Aksoy

Dr. Olcay Aksoy is a faculty member at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Division of Cardiology since 2013. As an Interventional Cardiologist, he serves as Associate Director of Aortic Valve Therapies and Associate Director of Clinical Research in Interventional Cardiology. His clinical practice focuses on invasive evaluation and treatment of structural heart diseases, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), Mitraclip, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale therapies.

• Education: MD from Duke University School of Medicine (2005), Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital (2008), and fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Foundation (2011-2013).
• Certifications: Board-certified in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

His research spans medical device development for cardiovascular treatments, structural heart interventions, and procedural optimization in valvular and coronary diseases. Publications from 2015-2020 address topics like TAVR complications, novel angiographic scoring, and pandemic-era cardiology care.
