Olav Gjelsvik is a Professor of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, University of Oslo (since 1994). His academic career includes positions such as Visiting Fellow at Balliol College, Oxford (2000-01), Research Fellow (1986-90), and Associate Professor (1991-94) at the University of Oslo, as well as an Honorary Research Associate at UC Berkeley (1989-90).
His research spans multiple areas in philosophy, including philosophy of mind, language, action, science (particularly economics), epistemology, and metaphysics.
