Olaf Zenker is a full Professor at the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. He holds appointments across multiple universities including the University of Cologne, Freie Universität Berlin, and the University of Fribourg. His academic journey includes a PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology and a Habilitation in Social Anthropology. Zenker's research focuses on political/legal issues in Southern Africa, Northern Ireland, and Germany, addressing statehood, bureaucracy, justice, and identity formations. He has held visiting fellowships at Harvard, Cambridge, and institutions in South Africa.
