Okuda Kazuaki

Okuda Kazuaki is a Specially Appointed Professor in the Department of Design at Osaka University of Arts' Faculty of Arts. As an active Visual Designer and Art Director, he is renowned for illustrative packaging designs. He graduated from Osaka Designers College (Graphic Design, 1979) and maintains dual academic-professional roles.

His research interests include:

• Visual storytelling through packaging
• Commercial illustration techniques
• Brand identity systems
• Consumer product design aesthetics

Major recognitions:

• Japan Package Design Awards Grand Prize & Special Prize (1991)
• Good Design Award for mascot design (2001)
